…..Without overwhelm, jargon and from a Mum who has been there - SEVEN TIMES!

As a new Mum in 2004, I found myself overwhelmed with information and struggling.

I was told by the Midwife that I needed to time my daughter's feeds, feed her 4 hourly, give her a dummy in between feeds. When she was feeding constantly at 4 months old, and waking regularly, I moved her on to formula, believing that I wasn't producing enough milk for her......

I simply didn't know any different....

But I now know that she was going through a classic 'growth spurt' stage, along with the 4 month sleep regression.

I was enough for her after all. I just didn't know it. I wasn't told it. The information wasn't readily available back then.

Now don't get me wrong. I didn't feel bad, as I didn't know any different. It was the right thing to do at that time, with the information and knowledge that I had.

Now I know different......

With my second child, her first growth spurt was at just 3 weeks. I remember sitting there for 2 to 3 hours in the evening, feeding her and going from my left breast to my right, and back again.

Surely I couldn't have run out already?

And with my eldest daughter just 21 months old, I truly didn't think I was doing the right thing by either of them. So she was moved to formula. It is one of my biggest regrets.

If I could go back in time, then I would. I would know that (most) babies go through their first growth spurt at that time. I would know that by feeding for that amount of time, and switching from breast to breast was literally one of the ways that babies encourage their Mother's milk supply to increase.

I wonder if you feel the same?

INTRODUCING - 'Latch On To Success - Breastfeeding Course'

So YOU can enjoy those early days post-partum, without overwhelm, and feeling CONFIDENT

After having my seventh baby, and still breastfeeding at over 2 and a half years old, I decided to train to become a peer supporter, to help give women the support and guidance that would have helped me tremendously in my breastfeeding journeys.

I see women daily being told to just 'top up' with formula, to allow the father to bond with the baby by giving a bottle, that when the baby is fussing that their milk must have run out.

So many of the beliefs around breastfeeding are outdated, and not even correct!

Being educated in breastfeeding is the best start for your breastfeeding journey ..... to help you to feel empowered that you are making the right choice for your baby....and for you

'Latch On To Success' gives you the perfect start to your breastfeeding journey, in an easy to read and informative way

I love to help women to feel empowered and that they CAN do this!
